Looking Back | May.

...a quick look back at the month of May through the lens of my daily photos (again, with fatmumslim's daily prompts).

::still doing better with color, although I purposely faded a few photos for effect.
::definitely out and about more (it helps that I spent almost half the month away from home!) - ratio of photos taken elsewhere to photos taken at home is 15:16.
::that said, I'm still inside too much. of those 16 at-home photos, 13 were taken inside, and I'm guessing almost as many were taken late in the day.
::and yikes, no faces (except Holly's once) and almost no people (two shots of feet and two of my hands)!

Taking a closer look:
::From Where I Stand (1 photo, on the very last day) - I thought I'd be able to do more of this in Europe, but that never happened.
::Other Selfies (2 photos) - both hands. I did manage one sort-of face shot last month (but then never shared April here on the blog...you'll just take to take my word for it!)
::Knitting (3 photos) - all WIPs.
::Holly (2 photos) - that full-on face shot from last Monday took me many tries...but I had to keep at it because the prompt was "pet".
::Food & Drink (3 photos) - all snack food. which looking back on May is kind of crazy. I can't believe I couldn't fit any of all the coffee and wine I consumed into at least one prompt!

::Porch Views (2 photos) - I hope to share more of these over the coming months.
::One Little Word (1 photo) - thanks to my friend Honoré who sent me that wonderful wooden "choose".

I love that I included the Eiffel Tower (that prompt was "favorite" and I have to say the Eiffel Tower lights is one of my favorite things ever), the Duomo, Boboli Gardens and Uffizi. Those are definitely some of my favorite views from the trip.

But I wish I could've included this one, too.

That's the Arno River at sunset. The prompt that day was "create". I'm sure there's a way to make it work, but I didn't figure it out. What do you think?

In summary, my goals for June's photos are more people (me included) and more daylight, especially away from home. Here goes!

It's all about pushing the boundaries and getting outside of your comfort zone. And look - now it's a whole new month with a whole new chance to do that!

I love your May. I'm not much of a selfie taker, either. Maybe when I get a smartphone things will change. Accepting our own selfies is a hard thing to do, but it's also something we need to do. Everyone else is ok with the way we look, right? You picture of the Arno creates a mood. Calming and peaceful.

On the subject of 'create,' I think appreciating creation, especially natural sunrises/sunsets and scenes such as these definitely qualify; thanks for sharing! You done good!
Cheers~
