Tuesday with Charlie | On the Move.

Marc called a few minutes ago. In response to his usual "what are you doing?" I replied simply "sitting down".

Toddlers aren't for sissies, that's for sure! The only time Charlie stops moving is when he eats
lunch time - "hi, Mommy"
or sleeps.
nap time. and yep, that's the floor (on the quilt his Aunt Lydia made)
Thankfully he did both of those things today, otherwise there would be no photos to share! It's hard to take photos when you're in on the action!

Like playing ball. His favorite game today was with the tennis ball. Yeah, I know it sounds dangerous but I don't think he knows that it can bounce. really high. he's  still delighted when it bounces lightly off the baseboard when I roll it...and then he brings it back to do it again.

or walking. First with Holly around the block. "c'mon" he says. (she doesn't listen, but then she doesn't really listen to me either.)

Then at church up and down stairs and a bonus "run" in the multi-purpose room to put the new shawls away.

And finally at Avalon. I wanted to visit Whole Foods to check out the magazines* and we picked up dinner. We walked back to the car the v.e.r.y long way and I had to carry him the last little bit.

I hope he sleeps well tonight. I think I will!

*I used to love magazines. Now the only one I get - thanks to Mother - is Southern Living. I have fond memories of Living, InStyle, Women's Health, Real Simple, Garden & Gun, Bon Appetit... but today, none of these grabbed my attention. Does anyone still read magazines?

All the magazines I read are I digital format on Texture (except for a few knitting magazines I still get in paper form).

I read a lot of magazines because I'm the one who catalogs them when they arrive at the library! My favorites are Good Housekeeping, Better Homes & Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, HGTV and Food Network. Sounds like Charlie's got you on the run and you're loving it!

Do you ever wonder how you did this all day, every day with Katie and Sara?! If tennis balls ever get to be an issue inside, you can maybe try Nerf balls. They're foam, and I don't think two boys playing Nerf football, tennis, and golf inside ever damaged anything in our house.

I don't get (nor really read) any magazines myself. I seems like they were piling up without me even looking at them, and even Interweave Knits was getting repetitive, so I let all my subscriptions lapse several years ago. I've never heard of Garden & Gun so I had to take a look online. Now that looks like an interesting magazine!

National Geographic is the only magazine I subscribe to. And it can keep me pretty busy - so many great articles. I sometimes pick up Bon Appetit and Southern Living around the holidays. Sounds like Charlie is a big contributor to your 10,000 steps on Tuesdays.

I still read Southern Living, Bon Appetit, and Traditional Home. Used to love Gourmet. So sorry that's gone. I still will also buy the occasional knitting magazine. I love to sit with a cup of tea and read a magazine cover to cover. Charlie is so cute!

Well, not sure you'd care for my magazine-Simply Gluten Free. It's full of great dinner ideas! Charlie will keep you running for the next 15 years, maybe even longer (25-30?). :)

Bonny's got the right idea -- go for Nerf balls! (So much easier on your house. Because it's only a matter of time. . .) I only read Cooking Light magazine in "paper form" now. I read The New Yorker -- but I have a digital subscription and read it on my iPad. Every once in a while, I pick up a gardening magazine, and in the fall, I always check out the September issues Vogue and Marie Claire. Otherwise. . . no mags for me anymore.

Someone (?)sends me Better Homes and Garden which I struggle to get to. I'm letting a People expire that my Dad had always bought my Mom and continued to give to me. (So. Much. Money.) But that's it! A travel treat is always Vanity Fair. And Charlie - it's great to see you!

Junah was over for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon and it's a bona fide workout these days! Up the stairs, down the stairs, and again a couple-few more times, bounce and roll and chase the ball, play that game where he throws the ball on the bed and I toss him up there and he rolls the ball off and then scoots himself off and AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN (with some little variation now and then)... constant movement except when he eats (he hasn't taken a nap at my house in ages). I wouldn't have it any other way... and I know you feel the same!! <3

The only magazine I have a subscription to is The New Yorker. I pick up the occasional Southern Living or Traditional Home magazine if it catches my eye at the grocery store checkout!

I subscribe to Cooking Light and have for YEARS! I also get (lest I sound like an old lady) Prevention Magazine. I love that it has very short articles that you can read while eating lunch. I let my subscription to Vogue Knitting lapse. I found that although I loved looking at the pictures, I rarely read the articles and I rarely knit something from it -- although I did last year. But with all the patterns on Ravelry, Vogue Knitting seemed like an indulgence I no longer needed.
