Early May Weekending.

This weekend wasn't nearly as photogenic as the last one (or hopefully as this next one promises to be !) but it seemed a lot more typical of weekends around here.

A Friday afternoon pedicure. (which isn't all that typical - I make appointments for every five weeks in the winter and four in the summer ... but I certainly wouldn't mind if this were a regular Friday thing!)

Friday night snacks (back to the typical).

Morning walks to the lake. I took Holly with me on Saturday and went by myself on Sunday. The round trip is three miles and I have to carry Holly for at least 2/3 of that. She only weighs 8 pounds, but still, I was surprised I burned more calories on the solo Sunday walk. (maybe because I didn't pause to take any photos?!) I realized this morning that neither Marc nor I have had to resort to the treadmill in over a week. This is a new - and much-welcomed - return to typical!

Cinco de Derby. fun Mexican is a standard feature around here (that's Ina's grapefruit margarita bottom right ... highly recommended) and we are horse racing fans through the Triple Crown. I think Justified might have a chance...

and that brings me to the center photo. a new knitting project (details forthcoming) and a new book. definitely typical! but oh my goodness - I haven't been this captivated by a book in months. I am loving it!

I guess "typical" is a broad term.

What from your weekend was "typical"?

Your new knitting project is intriguing and I'm glad you're enjoying Ready Player One! I haven't seen it myself, but Ryan says the movie is pretty good and told me I should go see it. This looks like it was a pretty darn good weekend, and I'm looking forward to photos from next weekend, too!

It was my typical Sunday morning, which kind of anchors the weekend. In the a-typical parts... little knitting, but lots of sewing! XO

I think that "typical" is often under-rated. There is something (a lot) to be said for a typical weekend. They can be calming and centering. Looking forward to your next weekend post!!

We rarely have typical weekends because Smith works such odd hours. However, I'd like a typical weekend to be like yours. I need a pedi, I could use time (focus) to sit down and get some knitting done, and figure out which book to read next (and an Ina Margarita!).

Your typical weekend seems like it would be very soul refreshing! Want to try the Ina Margarita and you are tempting me with the book. : )

Typical is so wonderful. Our typical...Saturday night out to dinner (w friends which is less typical) and walks around our lake. I've got a mani-pedi myself today and I'm very much looking forward to that! (What color did you get?)

"Typical" around here is that there's almost always something going on and there's a little bit of juggling. ;)

wow your Holly is a peanut! Frodo is 13 pounds of love. He feels like a ton of bricks after I've carried my Holly the cat who was lasted weighed at six pounds...I wouldn't want to carry Frodo.... He can walk 2 miles and he is 8 1/2 years old. I need to get back into the walks outside instead of inside on a treadmill.
