Unraveled Wednesday.

The only thing that has unraveled this week is my thinking that I could finish Calyx by Sunday, when the Sweater KAL in Elizabeth Doherty's group on Ravelry ends.

I still have two shoulder pieces to knit and join, then two sleeves, a neckline and a hem to pickup and knit. And plans today and tomorrow that won't allow much knitting time. So yeah, probably not gonna happen. But soon, for sure, because the knitting is just plain fun. The pattern is - of course - extremely well-written (I'm now on page 10 of 16) and - of course - very cleverly constructed.

On the reading front, I haven't made much more progress on As Bright As Heaven (I still haven't gotten to the flu part), but I'm almost finished with Winter's Tale. I have a little less than two hours to listen and I'm hoping for an awesome ending to redeem the somewhat sloggish two-thirds through point I hit yesterday (yep, 20 hours into a 28 hour book and I was ready to quit!) We'll see. It's  a very good thing that I've got such an interesting sweater on the needles or I'd have a lot less patience for the book.

Up next in the ears I have Ready Player One and Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. Hopefully they'll be good company for the stockinette in the round (Edie) and long rows of garter stitch (Bateaux Mouches) that I'll have left on the needles once I finish Calyx.

Joining in with Kat and crew this week ... what are you unraveling?

That yarn is just so beautiful Mary! And, looks perfect for that sweater (which is absolutely gorgeous). I have Eleanor on my nightstand, but have been busy reading library books on my Kindle as they come in on Overdrive. Always seems to be feast or famine with books!

Calyx is beautiful whenever you finish! Your mileage may vary, but I really like Eleanor O. (so much that I re-read it to make sure I really understood her) and Ready Player One was just plain fun. I think I initially gave it three stars, but read it again after Ryan and I had an intense discussion (it's one of his favorites) and then gave it four stars for an entertaining read.

I read a fair amount of Winter's Tale but like a quite a few others with me (reading not listening...)they die on the vine. Your sweater is just lovely and the color is really nice! I'm finishing a Louise Penny (been on the vine awhile but didn't fall off) and listening to a mystery...The Woman in the Window...we shall see how this plays out...6.5 hours left!

I love that sweater! Winter's Tale was the library book club read for last month and it was very well received.

That sweater is going to be so great! I soaked & blocked a kiddo sweater today and started another one just like it (but smaller) last night!

It's just lovely, Mary! The color is perfect for the design -- and ideal for spring. I can't wait to see it finished (whenever it happens). (It also looks like fun to knit.) I read Winter's Tale when it first came out (like . . . early 80s), and I just loved it. I re-read it a few years ago (I think for Bingo), and while I still liked it, it certainly didn't knock me off my feet like it had back in 1983! It's interesting and unique -- that's for sure. XO

That sweater construction is lovely! I’m listening to George and Lizzie by Nancy Pearl and have begun my list for summer book bingo.

Even under construction, it is just beautiful! And still looking to read As Bright As Heaven - I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things after my trip - sadly reading has been almost non-existent.

That's it. Calyx is next up in my queue! I enjoyed Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine so much! I hope it's a win for you, too.

I thought Eleanor Oliphant started a little slow, and I considered giving up on her. Go longer than you might otherwise (particularly if you find her irksome), because the payoff is worth it, I thought.

Am thinking I'll be unraveling the front of my Beckett as I don't think I did the cabling correctly, but will see after I complete the back.
