Mid-February Weekending.

... started out with blue skies and temperatures warm enough to have the roof open in the car - this is Friday afternoon on my drive home.

Thankfully Saturday and Sunday weren't as rainy as the forecast predicted (meaning Marc did leave the house for several hours both days to "hit balls" which judging by the state of his clothes, he did) but I still think the best parts of my weekend were spent indoors:

Catching up with Sara. I listened to her latest 2+ hour podcast and then had a long FaceTime (about much more than Homeland).

Watching the amaryllis. Another flower stalk has started (this is #7!)

and the blooms are still going strong.

Saturday evening we watched Longmire while I snuggled with Holly and worked toward finally seeing colors change on my Parallelogram Scarf.

And then yesterday morning, we met up with our favorite toddlers and their parents for breakfast. Marc hadn't wanted to commit to any daytime plans (in case the weather turned nice), but he agreed to 7:30 am when Katie texted Saturday evening. Leaving the house dark-early in the rain was completely worth it!

I love how Katie can get Sam to smile

and how Charlie can actually make Marc laugh!

What made you laugh this weekend?

Great photos but boy, 7:30 is early for a Sunday morning meet up! Dale always makes me laugh, it's one of my favorite things about him.

Oh boy... not much! But, these photos all brought a huge smile to my face! Sometimes you need the "grey days" to appreciate the bright ones all the more! Right?

I was stuck inside all weekend with a head cold and outside it was all sleet & freezing rain. I did manage to laugh at my dog's antics when she was trying to get me to chase her around the house. Today I'm feeling better, the sun is shining, and my dog still makes me laugh!

Hmmm...Doug definely makes me laugh but I have a friend named Rita who is hands down the funniest in our world ever. I could do 7:40!

Ellis always makes me laugh. His most recent game is to go behind me and “hide” until I say Where is Ellis? The he pop his head around and just belly laughs and rolls on the floor. Good times.

I'm afraid that 7:30 am on a Sunday might make me a bit grumpy, but boy, that lovely ever-blooming amaryllis sure makes me happy!

Oh, those kiddos and all the smiles!! I am quite envious of the open roof, and would be even more so if I had a roof that opened. ;)

We were warm, but very, very wet...so no open roof or window! Great pictures and your amaryllis is gorgeous!

We've had a few days that I could have/should have opened the sunroof. Charlie and Sam are so cute and they must be morning people! 7:30 would be no probs for me, but Smith might be an hour late. :) Having a fun day with your family is well worth the early hour!

Oh, look at those happy little boys!!! (And look how grown up Sam looks all of a sudden...) What a great way to spend a rainy Sunday morning -- so worth the getting up early part. Your amaryllis blooms are beautiful -- and giving you such a show well into February! Flowers are magical. XO

Lovely weekend scenes! And those happy faces would suggest no one was too unhappy about the early hour. : ) Wow, that amaryllis is certainly prolific and gorgeous!

a perfect weekend. We do not have warm enough weather for sunroofs opened but I did take a walk with sun on my face and birds singing away!!

Love the breakfast photos. I was just happy to get Sophie out for her walks when it wasn't raining! I'm hoping those blue skies make another appearance SOON.
