10 minutes.

The new issue of the Simple Scrapbooks newsletter arrived in my in-box yesterday. Featuring an article on journaling and a prompt list of "10 minute lists". Lots of good topics that I'll likely tackle in my journal, but for today's blog, my 10 minute list of what I love about my home:

Chance! in his home element, just cruising around
Beautiful oriental rugs on dark hardwood floors
My creative space
My blue and white plate collection on red walls in the dining room
My teacup collection...and the cool scrollwork on the staircase
The open floorplan - this view is from the front door to the back of the house
Glass-fronted cabinets in the kitchen to display ceramics, glassware, depression glass and other antique serving pieces
The kitchen table - a real gathering place for the family (Sara is standing to the right - not wanting to be in the picture!)
The wine fridge - two separate areas - the left is for white wine (54 degrees) and the right is for red (64 degrees)
Bookshelves with lots of family photos and other treasures that make them really "ours"
The deck and the backyard (and the table and chairs)
My favorite chair in my favorite reading corner

The photographs really did take just 10 minutes, but figuring out the html to create this post has taken over an hour! And there are so many other parts about my home that I love, but didn't capture here. The wall of Georgia Tech memorabilia, including a campus map from when my dad was first there in 1956 (?), the art - much of it from my family, the people who live here - Marc, Sara, me, Katie (for the next 2-1/2 weeks), the warmth and the comfort - it simply feels like home...
