Bonjour de Paris (le deuxieme).

...Friday night's dinner was amazing. The Caesar salad was as good as I remembered and the chocolate tart we shared for dessert was even better. We left the restaurant and had just enough time to pick up a bottle of bubbly and find a bench...

...before the show started. It was wonderful.

After that it was back home and to bed and ... a very late start yesterday. And it was raining. no matter. We took the metro to The Opera

and then walked to the Galeries Lafayette. (yes, Sara came to Paris to buy Keds.) The shoe department is in the basement so we'd been there a bit before we walked into the main part of the store...and looked up. First time I've ever heard Sara gasp in a store.

We also visited the food halls there and picked up a few things for another in-room picnic lunch. So good! It was still raining so we decided on a movie.

Wes Anderson goes perfectly with a rainy Saturday afternoon in Paris! (we both loved the film; highly recommend!)

We left the theater just before six pm and headed to Montmartre. It showered off and on but we were able to climb the hill (twice) to see the city laid out below.

We had another lovely dinner just a few blocks from Sacre Coeur. It was a tiny Italian restaurant that had great reviews on Yelp. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. One waiter (he might've been an owner?) offered to take our photo.
Sara ordered the linguine special and I had spinach ravioli with artichoke cream sauce. It felt a little weird to eat Italian when we'll be in Italy tomorrow, but it was so good!

We are leaving Paris this evening and our apartment as soon as I post this. The only things on our list for today are L'Orangerie (Sara hasn't been and Monet's Water Lilies are stunning) and a true Paris cafe.

..et a bientot.

You both look so happy in that last photo. And I think that is the largest pepper mill I have ever seen! Thanks for sharing more of you vacation - can't wait to hear about Italy!

It's so much fun to tour along with you. The Eiffel Tower must be stunning IRL. It's stunning in your photo! Happy travels (and good eating!).

Did you know that if you hold the key down on a Mac for the letter that needs an accent, a choice of accents will show up above the letter on the screen. ça va!
I was in Paris once during April and it snowed! It was magic and I loved it.
Great trip you both are having---have fun!

So fun! And hey - one of our favorite places to eat in Paris was that Italian restaurant - go figure! But it won't compare to the actual Italian food in Italy! Can't wait for you to try to pasta & pizza - heavenly! Also - love your striped shirt - so cute! xo -k

L'Orangerie was my favorite "art venue" in Paris. I love the intimacy -- and, of course, the Monet!
