FO Friday | Inscribe.

...it took almost two months, but I think it was worth it!

This is Inscribe (raveled here), from the Shibui FW15 collection, designed by Shellie Anderson. I knit this for the shop; but it's my size, so I get to wear it!

It was an enjoyable - Size 9 needles. Shibui Maai and Staccato held together (pretty much heaven). well-written pattern with just enough details - knit. I even learned a new cast-on (it's called "Channel Island" and I love how it looks like a picot...without all the tedious casting on and binding off and counting that a picot cast-on entails).

The textured pattern was easy to knit - and I love the detail that one of the sleeves is patterned, but the other is straight stockinette (I didn't actually notice that until I started knitting the sleeves!)

A lot of the two months was waiting - first for another skien of Staccato (had to order it), then for seaming, then for picking up the stitches for the neckband, and the last five days...for weaving in ends (y'all know how I feel about that!) A more dedicated knitter (who doesn't share my mixed emotions about finishing) could probably knit this in a few weeks, easily.

I do love the finished piece. The deep V isn't hard to wear and the shoulder seams and picked up edge around the neck keep the piece in place.

And I love taking FO photos with Katie. She always brings out my very best smiles!

Gorgeous! You wear it well and I'm so impressed that you finished it at the perfect fall sweater time. I may even be more impressed that you didn't save this lovely FO for a post in November!

LOVE that sweater!! I've shied away from pullovers in recent years, but I think I'd like to wear one like this -- LOVE that deep V. Great photos. ;)

The sweater is perfect for you and the photo shoot excellent! IYears ago I make mitts that had a Channel Island cast on and without You Tube I would never have made it through.

Beautiful patterns and textures - and I am sure it's going to get lots of wear. It looks very useful. And the photos of you are, as ever, wonderful. Especially that last one :).
