Tuesdays with Charlie | A Welcome Distraction.

There is nothing quite like spending the day with a two-year old to take your mind off ... other things.

Even the sunrise cooperated. This was the view over the lake when I drove to Charlie's house to pick him up this morning. Yes, I stopped the car and rolled down the window to take the photo (I actually took two :-)

Second breakfast is always a highlight of our early morning time. Today he ate three clementines, a handful of blueberries and two little handfuls of Cheerios. and proudly told me - between bites - that he was "two" and held up the fingers to show me.

I shared this one on Instagram and love the suggestions from the comments that maybe it's a victory or a peace sign (so much for distractions, huh?!)

Later we went to Avalon. Did a little shopping. Athleta and Anthropologie (I'm taking my boy training seriously) Then story time. and finally a wish at the fountain. Selfie time!

Home for lunch.
That's the very last of Friday night's meatloaf and I love that he cleaned his plate!

Then more stories, a nap and home. We walked with Katie and baby Sam (already TWO weeks old) and played in the park for bit. All too soon it was time to say goodbye.

And now I'm home. I called my mom and we talked about plans for her visit - just a week away!

And now it's just me. and The Gilmore Girls. a lot of stockinette. a little wine. a little popcorn.

and the waiting. the distraction was most welcome. polls close here in less than an hour....

That sunrise! I don't think I've seen a nicer one. And I'm not sure I've seen such a hungry and healthy eater as Charlie. There's no time to stew about other things with an adorable two-year-old (but I hope for the best president for Charlie's and Sam's futures). My diversions are much the same - some "lucky" Hitchhiker knitting, peppermint tea, and The Crown (for the second time). They are just barely working ...

I am really looking forward to learning how to be a gramma. I think I need to start watching Gilmore Girls. I missed it for time around.

We need that sunrise every day! Your Tuesday with Charlie was fun and he's so cool in his shades. I wonder if he knows what "I'm two, now" means...too (pun intended) cute.
