FO Friday | Charlie's First Christmas Sweater.

...Katie and Charlie made their visit to the shop today. It was a relatively quiet Friday around the yellow table, which was probably a good thing because my dear friend Martha also visited (all the way from Tennessee!) with her new little one. It was fun to see old friends and new friends.
And then to see Charlie showing off his Christmas sweater.
(yes it was a bit warmer today...sweaters meant bare feet!)
I fell in love with this pattern (it's Anders, by Soren Kerr) last winter and couldn't wait to knit it for Charlie's first Christmas. I chose Rowan's Wool Cotton. It was my first time using the yarn (ssshhh, don't tell - I've been recommending it for years!) and I'm happy to say it lived up to all those recommendations. It's soft, has great stitch definition and it's machine washable (in warm!).
The pattern was easy to follow and fun to knit (especially that vikkle braid detail that separates the ribbing from the stockinette). I normally don't like colorwork, but on a baby's over before I get tired of it! (especially because I omitted the colorwork on the sleeves.)
We even managed a photo of the back.
All the details are on my Ravelry project page (here). Next up, I think I'm going to make him mittens. Maybe these?

  1. Look at the babies eyeing each other. Babies always like babies.
Charlie looks so handsome in his Christmas sweater, which is charming and looks cozy!

  2. There is so much to love in these photos- babies, Charlie's wonderful sweater (how I wish it was sized for adults!), you and Charlie modeling the back, and all that yarn! Is that your Cast-On Cottage? I would never want to leave!

  3. That sweater is adorable on him and it fits perfectly! Well done, Mary!

  4. The baby and the sweater....just gorgeous. So beautiful. Loved seeing front and back and all the smiles

  5. Love that l'il one and his new sweater! Too cute! Great job with the kiddles - both of 'em.

  6. What a wonderful day! And that sweater (and that baby!) are beautiful! That picture of the two of you is so great. :-)

  7. I think Charlie is destined to always be missing at least one article of clothing! Such a cutie, and his mama and marmie aren't so bad either.

  8. Oh, I love how the babies are looking at each other!!
Adorable sweater. He's such a doll. Great picture of the two of you!! Love them all.

  9. So, so sweet! (The sweater, Charlie, the two babies checking each other out, Katie, YOU . . . such sweetness.)

Thanks for the feedback!
