Halloween 2016.

When my girls were young, Halloween was my least favorite holiday. I had limited imagination (and less time); the whole costume thing always threw me for a loop. and then there was all.that.candy. Fast forward twenty-odd years and it's still probably my least favorite holiday, but it has a whole lot more going for it now.

Like the Prisma app's special Halloween filter. (yep, that's me - same fascinator I've worn the past few years.)

Sitting on the front step at Katie's to pass out candy. Loving the kids that say "thank you" (and wondering when did York Peppermint Patties get to be the popular candy? *)

Not having to worry one bit about a costume - and delighted to see how much Charlie (and his dad) loves his.

Watching Charlie do his first solo photo with the neighborhood kids.

and say his first Trick or Treat.

I even had a few moments alone with little Sam.
(baby toes might just be the best treat of all!)

Hope your Halloween was more treats than tricks. And Hello November - NaBloPoMo here I come!!

* we leave a basket of candy on our front porch - a mixed bag of chocolates, including Snickers, Kit Kat's, Twix and M&Ms, plain and peanut. I was shocked when I picked up the basket last night to see that nearly all the Snickers were left. needless to say, those leftovers went to work with Marc today (and I hope he shared them!)

Much more eventful than mine! We had no trick-or-treaters, but it's always been one of my favorite "holidays'. So many fun memories when we lived in our first house, and all the neighborhood things we did. Charlie did very well on his first solo photo too.

I love Charlie's costume! He looked official! And, baby toes - yes, they are indeed something spectacular.

And, the big hit here this year were bags of Cheez Its! Yes, indeed! Both parents and kids were so excited to see them!

Charlie looks perfectly at home in his costume - his choice? Do I recall that he's been to a firehouse? Love Sam's baby feet...Your photo is perfectly scary...and no, we had not nary a trick or treater...par for the course.

Cheers~

I'm right there with you on Halloween as our least favorite holiday, and I wish I had known that there were other mothers feeling the same way. But it looks like you're reaping the rewards now, quenching your thirst while you hand out candy! Charlie looks so big trick-or-treating, and yet still little when compared with the rest of the kids. And leftover Snickers - I've never heard of such a thing!

I am very bah, humbug when it comes to Halloween. I go along with it - sure - but I just don't get into it at all. We had plenty of trick-or-treat kids --- but none so adorable as your little firefighter!

Charlie looks great as a fireman! Love your self portrait!! We had only a few knocks on our door - maybe a half dozen or so...and EVERYONE said Thank You which really surprised me (and made me happy). The little girls are always so cute in their fairy costumes, etc.

Oh, those baby toes!!! Charlie's costume is wonderful & he looks so cute. When I lived in upstate NY, trick or treating was very popular in our small town & I would usually give out candy to about 150-200 kids. Here in Illinois, in 10 years I have had 3 trick or treaters, all the first year I lived here. I think most of the kids trick or treat at the university.

Charlie has the best costume of the year! We get no kids at our door, so I watched Young Frankenstein, which isn't scary, all by myself.

Oh my goodness, those TOES!! A treat, indeed! Jun was a fireman this year, too (for the very little bit that he tricked-or-treated).
