Currents | April.

Saying Yes to "YES!". This beautiful reminder of my 2018 intention arrived in yesterday's mail, together with a sweet note from Honoré 😘. I placed it front and center on my desk where I can see it every morning as I journal...reflecting on yesterday, grateful for today, and planning for tomorrow.

Loving slower mornings and coffee with Marc during the week. Most mornings that means a second pot of coffee ... and just this week I've learned that is better as decaf!

Planning my next few knitting projects. I wound yarn today for two and swatched for one. I also did a major organize/purge of my stash and it feels really good!

Eating salads with lean protein (gah, still!) ... and popcorn.

Drinking red wine (gah, still!).

Watching Bosch. and Homeland. and hoping to start Howard's End and the latest season of Call the Midwife soon.

Needing to find a Vice Moderator to join our women's ministry leadership team. This year I'm the Vice Moderator, and next year I move into the Moderator role; I need someone to take my current role. We've approached half a dozen women so far ... the conversations aren't easy for this introvert ...  and I'm getting discouraged.

Wanting SPRING! I know many of y'all are seeing snow and much colder temperatures than we have here. But this is Georgia. in late April. it's supposed to be Spring!

Enjoying wearing make-up again. I went to Bobbi Brown last Thursday and replaced what I had to throw away (thanks to pink eye). It was freeing to go make-up free for so long, but I do like myself better with at least a touch of mascara.

Hoping the upcoming election season doesn't get as nasty as I think it might.

Wishing for a round trip ticket to NYC this summer. Sara's contract in Atlanta ended last week and I'm not sure when she'll be back here. Seems like I need to go there.

Saying Thank You for all of you (and especially those of you who take the time to comment). This space is a very special part of my life and I'm glad you're part of it ... and that you've let me be part of yours.

Looking forward to Beaufort 2018! We leave Thursday and return Monday. I look forward to a real weekending post, for sure!

I hope you have something good to look forward to this week ... please share!

Notes from Honore are truly a special perk of any week! And, I am on the cusp of planning new projects... but I am feeling some indecision about what to do! I need to do a good purge of my stash - thanks for the inspiration!

Here is to trips to NYC and Beaufort that are full of good things! XOXO

P.S. I am sorry you are not finding someone to join you in leadership. I have been saying no to things lately out of self preservation and it is a hard word for me to say.

I know just what you mean about approaching people to take on a leadership role. I was elected as our pastoral council president in January and I've been trying to fill two spots on our council since then, I finally filled the second spot this week...this introvert is happy that that job is over with!

I'm glad someone in the US is experiencing spring! My something good this week is planning summer travel to visit kids. I haven't seen Ryan since October, so I may be treating myself to a visit with him for my birthday, and there may be a barbecue at the ranch with Justin in June. A visit with Sara in NYC sounds wonderful, and definitely have fun in Beaufort!

Oh, definitely get a ticket and go see Sara! :-) I am planning trips to Colorado and California to visit my kids, and just the planning makes my heart sing! I, too, hope you find someone to fill the leadership position in your group. I think it's more and more difficult to find folks willing to make that kind of commitment. I know I am very choosy myself -- trying to guard my time and commitments -- and that makes saying "no" hard (but necessary). You will make a fabulous moderator! XO

I love your collection of books! And still looking for spring here, too. We enjoyed a couple of sunny very warm days which have made it all the more difficult to return to winter-like weather again. Hoping you get to visit with Sara this summer and wishing you happy times in Beaufort!

I've been on a salad a day kick and I LOVE IT! I use a different dressing so I don't burn out and it's working so far. I wish I didn't have to watch election ads....that would make my days brighter :)

I'm eating salads and lean protein too (gah!) but I've got 5 lbs to drop and it looks like I'm down 3! I'm advocating for that ticket to NY too! It is most important. We most likely won't see Dan until August and it will have been 6 months. It's just too long. And I shall pray that you find that vice moderator. It's so hard to get folks to commit.

Enjoy your trip to Beaufort and time away! You always have a nice time in NYC with Sara and I enjoy the pictures. Hopefully you'll find someone to fill the vacancy. You are there because you see the value in a challenge. I hope you find another who is willing to accept the same. xo
