Thursdays with Sam | Smiling.

When I picked up Sam this morning, Katie told me she'd read this week's blog posts (and the comments - thank y'all!) and that it sounded like someone had died.  All those "thinking of you" and "keeping you in my thoughts" and yeah, I get what she means (and I love how supportive y'all have been, truly!). This move is really a good thing - they're super-excited about the house and the location - and "with light traffic it's just a 30 minute drive". point taken.

We're smiling!

I had two wonderful days with the boys this week and even snuck in an extra hour with little Sam yesterday.  Tomorrow and Saturday I'll see them again (I'm helping Katie unpack) ... and I have plans to see them all once they're settled in. Tuesdays with Charlie and Thursdays with Sam are going to look quite a bit different going forward, but we'll still have plenty of time together. Thank goodness "Atlanta" isn't really as far away as it sometimes seems!

and this just occurred to me as I writing the post - think of all the books I can listen to on those "30 minute drives" 😃

30 minutes . . . not so bad! :-) (And, yeah. Book-listening time!) Sam's smile is just infectious. Such a sweetheart.

What a wonderful smile Sam has! Maybe Katie didn't know that Charlie and Sam had their own little fan club who love seeing her adorable sons and their smiles? In a few short months, I bet those 30 minute drives will seem like nothing. Here's hoping moving, unpacking, adjusting, and getting settled in go smoothly for everyone, with lots of smiles. :-)

Ah to be young and see the other side of a situation! I'll still be thinking of you and your new beginnings. I think you will be having lots of fun listening to books, and getting into a new schedule groove :)

Awwww, poor Katie. I hope our comments didn't bring her down too much. Of course this is good and exciting for her and that's what matters most. You will adjust quickly to the change and YAY for extra book listening time!

We were just feeling sad for ourselves, as well as you and the boys, too. We are indeed looking forward to the new adventures ...and more pictures filled with the light of both boys great smiles...30 min drive huh...it sometimes takes me that long to go 7 miles north on US 1 from my house through UMD campus in College Park to IKEA! I should count the traffic signals ...maybe I will...
Cheers~

It's just that we (most of us) are resistant to change, but I know I am looking forward to new ways of seeing you with Sam and Charlie. Sam truly does have the cutest baby face and biggest smile! Love it!

Yeah! There's always an up-side! My Kate has moved about :30 away, too, but I don't have to worry about traffic (because that's just not a thing here!). I'm happy for Katie and her family, and I've no worries that a new routine for you will soon develop. That Sam! He reminds me a lot of Gin with those smiles -- is it a second-child thing?

Hoping you'll adjust to the new routines and distances soon - and there are certainly plenty of big smiles here! (It takes a coach journey, a flight, three trains and ten hours to get to see our grandchildren ...).

He is adorable! I would give anything to have my daughter, Kate, 30 minutes away with 2 babies to spoil! She is firmly entrenched in NYC with no plans to move back to Pittsburgh. Lots of books to listen to on the commute! Good luck to them in their new home. Always fun to make a house a home.
