Currents | November 2014.

It's a wet, gray morning outside, the kind that makes me very glad I don't need to be anywhere until lunchtime (but also a little sad because I was looking forward to re-joining my running group after a month-long absence). Seems the perfect time to pour another cup of coffee...and reflect on what's happening right now.
last November 17 - celebrating my birthday and our anniversary in the Dominican Republic
Loving: Marc has been home for two weeks. The evenings, especially, have been so nice - shared dinners with conversation (and no popcorn!)

Embracing: shorter days...cozy evenings on the couch with a fire.

Reading: nothing right this second. I just finished the third Outlander (Voyager) and Anna Quindlen's Lots of Candles Plenty of Cake and felt like I needed a break. So I reserved the entire Flavia de Luce series from the library.

Laughing: out loud along with Charlie.

Listening: to XM's Holly station (I did hold off until yesterday...and it's only in the car).

Splurging: on six skeins of gorgeous cream colored yarn to knit Christmas gifts for my girls.

Craving: one of Katie's specialty gin cocktails - nothing says "celebrate fall" quite like it!

Hoping: for an updated Marmie/Charlie photo today (Katie's invited me for lunch).

Trying: to get back into my good running/yoga routine.

Wearing: boots, tights, a dress and my pebble cowl (well, that's the plan anyway once I change out of my pajamas!)

Knitting: all the hats! and a Christmas sweater for Charlie.

Enjoying: this daily blogging thing. way more than I thought I would!

Remembering: that "birthday martini" (shown in the photo above) that left me a little tipsy before dinner.

Anticipating: Sara and my parents meeting Charlie for the first time.

What about you? are you anticipating anything special right now?

I enjoy reading your currents and finding out more about your weekend. I'm anticipating a cup of tea to warm me up, as it is 17 degrees here.

a new recipe for dinner I found this morning- cauliflower and butternut squash gratin. I already have some cooked butternut squash and roasted cauliflower ready to go. Putting on yoga pants and a flannel shirt when I get home from work!

We got about 3" of snow last night and woke up to 18 degrees & windy this morning. I thought I would freeze on my way to the gym! I scheduled my lawn service to do "fall clean up" this week...that won't happen today!

All I can think about is how I'd like to be in the Dominican Republic right now.

I love your Currents posts - a quick rundown of all the things going on in your life. I'm looking forward to seeing what you're going to knit for your girls (and what the yarn is) and photos when Sara and your parents meet Charlie!

I, too, want to see what you're going to knit for your girls! (And, like Carole, I'm craving the Dominican Republic right now. As I watch more and more snow fall.)
